TEACHING PHILOSOPHY

Teaching Philosophy Statement
We all have formulated philosophies of how to be an excellent teacher based on our passed study years and our life experiences. As we gained more experiences our philosophy will continually refined. I believe the fundamental physical principles coupled with critical thinking skills provide the learning foundation of every good engineer. My philosophy centers around three things which are: 1) Awareness of students needs of learning and teaching methods strategies. 2) Communicative approach in enhancing their soft skills. 3) Conveying my passion for civil engineering through my lectures. To me, awareness is the ability to perceive and anticipate students need. It allows you to discern and anticipate some of the difficulties students may have with particular principles and objectives, and to handle the complexity of teaching across languages and cultures. It is necessary to pay attention to student wants and reasons for studying civil engineering, this helps the lecturer to know the motivation of their students. I also believe in increasing the students inventory of understanding through study and experience. Some of the best ways to advance in teaching are to see what has worked and what hasnt worked for others. Teaching methodology: -Lectures supported with works examples are given to cover concepts in soil mechanics. -Tutorials are designed with problems to enhance students understanding of lectures. -e-Learning will be conducted during the lecture weeks via non-face to face. The specified task/activities will be designed accordingly to specific topics. The communication with student will be executed via virtual platform such as smart phone, computer or etc.

TEACHING GOALS

Teaching Goals Statement
I really hope that as I have more opportunities teaching that it will not only increase my passion for teaching, but it will also continue to mold my philosophies and practices. As being mentioned above, as we gain more experience in teaching, our philosophy will continually refined semester by semester since different groups of students coming to our class. , I will go semester by semester to see how much my experience influenced my philosophy of teaching for every semester
