Teaching Philosophy Statement |
My utmost principle of teaching is to deliver knowledge to those who are willingly to learn in the name of Almighty Allah. By setting up this intention, my enthusiasm to do my job increasingly developed day by day as I believe every single thing that I do will be paid by Him and subsequently I will try the best to give my acknowledge to the students. As a lecturer, I hold a vision to see my students will be able to apply the knowledge that they gain in the classroom into the real world. Therefore, I would have to set up my objectives and methodologies of teaching so that my knowledge and experience can be delivered to my students effectively. Objectives: a) To ensure the students understand the outcome of the courses. b) To ensure the students are able to apply the knowledge into the real situation. c) To expose the students to the relationship between the theoretical concept in the class with the actual engineering practices outside the classroom. Teaching Methodologies: a) Explained the principles of the topics in the courses by giving visual examples from pictures or photographs other than verbal explanations. b) Giving examples that suit with the real situation through case studies c) Open discussions with students to encourage critical thinking so that they will be able to relate theoretical part learned in classroom with actual engineering practices. d) Hands on exercise in classroom. I always encourage my students to have further discussions outside the learning hours. Lastly, I will try to make my lessons more relevant and appropriate to my students so that they can relate whatever they learn in classroom with the real situation outside of the academic setting. |
