TEACHING PHILOSOPHY

Teaching Philosophy Statement
-The whole art of teaching is only the art of awakening the natural curiosity of young minds. Anatole France I believe that the best teachers are those who work hard to help students learn. They are able to create learning environment that foster freedom and responsibility. To me, I try to pass most of the students because the students learn a great deal of subjects and topics in UiTM, but after graduation they have to think logically and work smart as well as work hard to survive in the real engineering world. Some of the knowledge gained in University is not used at all while working. However, the knowledge gained while studying in UiTM will provide the foundation to survive and solve all real engineering problems successfully when they work later.

TEACHING GOALS

Teaching Goals Statement
-To me, teaching is a helping relationship. We, as teachers help transform the particular concepts of our field into terms that can be understood by the students we are teaching. So in the classroom I am the facilitator, coach and guide to their understanding and learning. So it is my responsibility to establish a safe and supportive atmosphere for learning. Students must feel comfortable in learning new materials and are not afraid to ask questions and make mistakes. I often remind them that classrooms are the safest place to make mistakes and learn from them. The basic premise is that if we are genuine, caring, emphatic and congruent as teachers, we will be fostering the growth and teaming of others. Therefore, in order to create this atmosphere for learning, I first of all have to be sensitive to students concerns and fears by actively seeking and encouraging their feedback.
